No more! Just say no! No more tattoos, no more earrings, no more necklaces, no more bracelets, no more bumper-stickers, no more graffiti renditions, no more paintings, no more hand-bags, no more t-shirts, no more perfume, no more soaps, no more furniture.

Finally! at least you didn't work in a fleur de lis sweatshop for most of the two good months of summer two years ago.
forgive me for thinking anything local is good but...
unity is essential to our survival and to the maintenance of our civic uniqueness.
the fleur de lis is a visible and simple symbol for locals to grasp on to; its french heritage reminds us that we are distinct from the rest of the united states with its anglo (and hispanic, true) heritage.
madame, I feel similarly and differently. i love it as a symbol for new orleans, and its connection our european origins... aesthetically(sp?) it is quite lovely, not to mention the connection to the Saints. I am sick. and will follow up on this shortly.
hooray for meatheads from new orleans suburbs and inked up ho bags switching from floral and tribal designs, that are about as used up as they are, and deciding instead to inscribe upon themselves a symbol that reminds me of things I love.

i still support revising the NOLA flag, to be a purple-green-gold (metallic gold lamé... shimmer is a must) horizontal tricolor, with the center green stripe contorted in the shape of our gracious crescent of river. at the center of the river's cure would be an oyster, opened to reveal a pearl.
garish, yes.
better than a fleur de lis, also yes.
Werd.
